Night Event – members only
June 26 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
A rare chance for all ages to explore nature under the cover of darkness. Local biologists and educators will lead guests around Letcher Basin on a search for the diverse, amazing life that becomes active at night.
After a bonfire and s’mores, guests will split into two groups. One group will take a short hike in search of owls, frogs, and bats using echolocation devices and calls, while the other group investigates a “light trap” designed to safely collect insects. Groups then switch.
Admission is $5 per person to help cover cost and support the foundation. Special edition ParkLands glow-in-the-dark tshirts will be for sale. Registration is limited to 20 guests per group, or 40 total guests. This event is for ParkLands members only. Not a member? Join today! https://www.parklandsfoundation.org/membership/
The event will take place on mown trails that are uneven in places, so please no strollers. As with all ParkLands preserves, dogs are not allowed at this event (learn more about our dog policy).
