We are requesting your help!

ParkLands Foundation is pleased to announce that we recently received a challenge grant for $12,000 from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation (ICECF) to support capacity building for the ParkLands Foundation.

The Capacity Building Fund is helping ParkLands Foundation expand in order to continue our mission into the future. This grant provides structural support for the foundation (a new website, upgrades to our member database) as well as an expansion of our Outreach program. As you can see from the photos below, our Outreach and volunteer program has grown by leaps and bounds! We are excited to keep bringing programs to the community, but will need to expand our staff to do so.

The ICECF grant will give us $1 for every $1 that we raise specifically for this project from the general public for a maximum award of $12,000 from ICECF. This means your donation will have double the impact!

In order for ParkLands to achieve these goals, we must raise at least $12,000 in matching funds dedicated towards our capacity building. We have outlined the specific aims for this project in the pages below.

Please consider giving a donation to the Capacity Building Fund to help us reach our ICECF challenge grant goals.

No matter how small or large, your valuable contributions will help us!

Thank you for assisting us in our efforts to increase conservation acreage in the Mackinaw River watershed, protect and improve the ecological health of the river corridor, and provide for passive public nature recreation and education.

Annual meeting 2018

Phase 1:  We have completed Phase 1 of the Capacity Building Campaign. In March of 2019 we hired a team to help us     determine what next steps we needed to grow the Foundation. We received several recommendations and are working to   achieve each of the goals of membership growth, membership participation and financial stability.

We need your help to complete Phase 2! Some of the recommendations for Phase 2 include:

  • Hiring a part-time Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator
  • Purchasing and implementing a new member database
  • Revamping the ParkLands Foundation website
  • Providing Development training for staff
  • Building the membership program

Thank you in advance for your support! We look forward to seeing you at our preserves in 2020!
